Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter XXII

Kimin's back!

Kimin the Shaman, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Milio the Bard face off against foes in front of them and behind them in an effort to survive long enough to enter the ziggurat at the focal point of the cyclopolis. What they'll find there is anyone's guess, but they begin to get hints of what is to come...

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter XVII

After being taunted by 138-Heads-On-Spikes, Milio the Bard, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Kimin the Shaman, as well as their traveling companion Navaath come face-to-skull with Tmuc, the last warrior-poet of the giants, who was cursed to eternally protect the gate of the Cyclopolis into which our party is seeking entrance.

This one gets fucking wild.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi's spellbinding ukiyo-e triptych of a gashadokuro, a giant skeleton from Japanese folklore, was absolutely a massive part of my Appendix N for this whole series. I'm in love with it. You’ll find it below.

Consider checking out our Patreon! You can find the full rules for the Tropaion custom move and the magic items everyone received on there! Plus discord access, session debriefs, and more.

We have merch here. And we're on Twitter and Instagram.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi's spellbinding ukiyo-e triptych of a gashadokuro, entitled "Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre", with an enormous skeleton across two panels towering over two samurai in the middle panel, with a witch in the third.

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter XVI

Milio the Bard, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Kimin the Shaman, along with their companion Navaath, tackle some skeletal chariot riders guarding a massive tropaion in the center of an ancient battlefield drenched in the blood of armies.

Then we do some custom move stuff!

And then the party finds themselves suddenly face-to-face with the end...

And that end's face? It's an asshole.

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter XV

Kimin the Shaman, Milio the Bard, and Uraziti the Spellblade, along with their companion Navaath follow the directions given to them by the Death monk last session on their way to find the Cyclopean city at the heart of the Vulturelands. But on their travels, they come under the watchful eye of someone rather intimidating.

Ryan may sound a little weird about halfway through this one - more recording issues on the original, so we had to rerecord the back half. But at least you can understand him this way!

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter XI

Kimin the Shaman, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Milio the Bard spend the afternoon getting to know their welcoming but mysterious elven hosts, Qo'okal and Navaath. But tension between the party bleeds over to their conversations with the elves as the topic turns toward the mechanisms near the edge of the ridge and knowledge the elves do not wish to share...

Sorry about the stinger on this one...

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter X

Kimin the Shaman, Milio the Bard, and Uraziti the Spellblade have narrowly survived a fight with the local, not-quite-alive locals in the Vulturelands. Milio and Uraziti debate who should scout for camp as tensions remain high within our traveling party - which leads to a struggle out of the darkness. Then, Kimin grapples with his proud spirit becoming unmoored from his material body. After an invigorating meal and a good night's rest (as well as some leveling up), they continue onward toward a hint of civilazation. Hopefully what they find there will prove more hospitable than their last encounter...

Please consider backing us on Patreon! Your support will help us focus more on creating content, with upcoming exclusive 1-on-1 games and game read-throughs. For becoming a patron, you’ll get access to our Discord, the ability to vote on upcoming C-Sides, as well as free use of the compendium class we created for Uraziti in this episode: The Acolyte of Smoke. Our patron-only version of this episode includes discussion about character motivation in the face of horrible things along with more banter, discussion about custom moves, commentary on the game, and more!

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter IX

Our hiatus from Series IX is over! Welcome back to the Vulturelands! And this episode is a doozy.

Milio the Bard, Kimin the Shaman, and Uraziti the Spellblade have reunited, despite the party being split across different dimensions. There is some tension between our adventurers which takes an emotional toll and drags the party's cohesion and morale down. But as they venture forth through the Vulturelands, they quickly realize there are much more dangerous problems than the issues they have with each other. Sometimes you have to put differences aside to work together.

But that doesn't guarantee the dice are going to agree with them...

If you enjoy what we do and would like to support us, check out our Patreon! You’ll be able to vote on upcoming C-Sides and can chat with us on our Discord. You can also get another feed with extended episodes including more jokes and session discussions, as well as the occasional bonus episode.

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter VII

Uraziti the Spellblade, Kimin the Shaman, and Milio the Bard make their way from the crumbling tower deeper toward the heart of the Vulturelands. The enchantments of this place affecting them more as they go on their way.

The standing bones give their first glimpse into the dark, forgotten history of the cyclopes, a glimpse that is difficult for them to withstand.

They then search for an easier way forward as they explore this land. They move to a lake of black water, but some old friends decide to drop in.

Please also check out our Patreon if you’d like to support us. You’ll be able to vote on what we’re playing, you can access our Discord, and our notes for games, the occasional additional bonus episodes, and you can get a version of the podcast where we leave in our table banter and have more discussion about what we’re playing.

The Patreon will also greatly help us produce additional regular content as well! We’re very close to our next goal, where we will begin streaming tabletop-related games and discussions in addition to producing our podcast!

Series IX: Cyclopolis of the Damned - Chapter III

We join Kimin the Shaman, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Milio the Bard while they investigate a skeleton of a leviathan held aloft by wriggling tendrils. They search for answers that will tell them more about the Vulturelands, but find themselves a little lost. Perhaps they'll get lucky and find their guide!

If the custom moves in this recording are a little different than the end result we made available for listeners, it's because we edited them for improvements as we used them, so don't worry when they don't quite match.

If you enjoy what we do and have the money to spare, please check out our Patreon. Along with our gratitude, you'll gain Discord access and the ability to vote on our upcoming games. In the Patron-only version of this week's episode, we spend more time discussing the custom moves I wrote for this point crawl, as well as the potential advanced moves available for these playbooks, and more!

V: Dimansion of the Tectomancer - Chapter 0

Apologies for the audio in this episode. We had a problem with our setup during this recording that we did not realize until much later. I'm labeling this Chapter 0 because, while it establishes details that will return later, it can be skipped with regards to the main adventure if the audio problems are an issue. I will provide a summary in the comments of the episode (and eventually plan to have a full transcript). I hope the issues aren't too distracting, though, because while it might stand alone as a subsection of this adventure I honestly believe this episode is very strong in content and character development. Please give it a shot.

Our heroes need to steal a book in order to enter the Dimansion. Naturally, all other books are just getting in the way.
